The Power of Saying Yes to God

There is a moment that changes everything. It doesn't always happen in a church service, or at a conference, or even during a dedicated time in prayer. It's only takes a simple, sometimes terrifying, faith-filled moment launched by one word:
YES.
Yes, Lord. I'll go. Yes, Lord. I'll speak. Yes, Lord. I'll trust You even when I can't see the outcome.
Some of the most powerful moves of God in scripture started with one person's "yes". . Moses said, "yes" to confronting Pharaoh with a stuttering tongue. Esther said "yes" to approaching the king when it could have cost her life.
None of them had the full picture. None of them felt qualified. But they said, "yes" anyway. And God did the rest.
So Why is "Yes" So Hard...
Let's be real -- saying "yes" to God isn't hard because we don't love Him. It's hard because of what it costs.
Saying "yes" might mean leaving the job that pays well but drains your spirit. It might mean starting the ministry when nobody believes in it yet. It might mean forgiving someone who never apologized. It might mean being obedient in a season when obedience looks like foolishness to everyone watching.
The enemy knows the power of our "yes". That's why he works so hard to get us to say "not yet," "maybe later," or "let me wait until I'm ready."
But here's the thing -- you will never feel ready. Moses didn't feel ready. Gideon didn't feel ready. David was literally in a field with sheep when God chose him. Readiness is not the requirement.... Willingness is.
What Happens When We Say "Yes"...
Isaiah 6:8 -- "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'"
Whewww LISTEN HERE!!! When you say "yes" to God:
Heaven backs you up. Resources, connections, and doors appear that you didn't create.
Your faith grows. You can't build trust with God from the sidelines. You build it by stepping out.
Other people get free. Your obedience isn't just for you. Someone is waiting on the other side of your "yes".
The enemy loses ground. Every "YES" to God is a "no" to fear, doubt, and stagnation.
Even the "Yes" in the Small Things...
We often wait for the big, dramatic calling -- the stage, the book deal, the global ministry. But God is often looking for our "yes" in the small things first.
Luke 16:10 -- "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much."
Our small "yes" is training ground for our big "yes".
So saying "yes" to the early morning prayer when our bed is calling us back. Say "yes" to encouraging that person in the grocery store. Say "yes" to writing that blog, that book, or the social media post even when nobody's reading it yet. Say "yes" to being faithful in the season that feels invisible.
Say "YES"
Know that Your Yes Is Waiting....
I don't know what God is asking you to say "yes" to right now. But you do.
It's the thing that keeps coming back to your mind. The burden that won't leave your heart. The step you've been avoiding because it is unknown.
Say "yes". Say it afraid. Say it with tears. Say it with shaky hands and a trembling voice. But say it.
Because on the other side of your "yes" is everything God has been preparing for you.
